Water-filled canisters were found to be effective in shielding against ADRES.  The experiments with this type of shielding included the use of stainless steel insulated and uninsulated flasks of different sizes as shown in Fig. 1.  Based on the physical perception of the Affected Person the attenuation effect is achieved due to the fact that water-filled containers are able to "attract" some ADRES matter stronger than the human body.  Which is believed to lead to the "dispersion" of the ADRES matter and thus reduced exposure of the human body to ADRES when such water-filled canisters are positioned at locations closest to where the ADRES effects are felt and/or placed in contact with the human body being exposed to ADRES.  Electrical contact of the water-filled container with the skin surface closest to the affected region appears to be desirable for higher shielding efficiency.
Water-filled canisters proved to be effective against the ADRES type referred to as the "burning spheres" which is often felt as some sort of slightly burning spherically shaped region induced at the skin surface or inside of portions of the body and / or unusually shaped (i.e. spherical) perspiration regions.   It is not currently clear if the burning spheres and the unusually shaped perspiration regions are caused by the same type of ADRES but the water-filled canisters appear to be effective for this(these) type(s) of ADRES.  Experiments suggest that if the burning and unusually-shaped perspiration effects are caused by ADRES, the placement of water-filled canisters in direct proximity to where the ADRES effects are felt to be applied to results in the reduction of the burning sensation or the unusual perspiration effects.  It should be pointed out that uninsulated water canisters would usually be filled with warm water prior to use or else they would be too cold to be in contact with the body.
The AP reported a perception of matter circulating around the feet and propagating to the upper body from the feet up along the legs.  It was found that placing water filled hip flask canisters into the back pockets of pants (when standing up on the floor) appears to provide an obstacle for further propagation of ADRES along the body  It is not clear if this technique is useful in the long term.
